As a “paint & brush” guy, let me assure you that pixels are as good as paint any day. (Full disclosure ~ while I am adept with a brush or pencil, I barely know how to use a computer.) The medium is only as creative as the person controlling it. You have a very interesting painterly sensibility ~ not everyone working in your medium has it. The fascinating aspect of your work (at least for me) is that it’s in that fuzzy area where art rubs up against technology & I suspect some people aren’t really comfortable with the friction. I find it intriguing. I can’t speak for the art world as a whole, but I find what you & other programers like Robert Hodgin are playing around with to be extremely creative, absolutely compelling, quite beautiful, & perfectly valid as art. The value is only obscured to those wearing blinders.
